Kre8tors Blog Hop September 2018 – Sympathy Card
Hello and welcome to September’s Kre8tors Blog Hop. This month we are showcasing Sympany Cards. So you may have joined me from the fabulous Jo Blackman .Although as a crafter I enjoy making cards this is one card I do not enjoy making but alas there does come a time when such a card is required.
The set chosen is called Follow Your Dreams and has a matching die set called Chase Your Dreams but you can purchase them as a bundle and save 10% which is fantastic. I loved the look of this set as soon as I saw it and feel that it can suit any occasion and thought this set would be perfect for a sympathy card as the dreamcatcher can be used to protect the sleeping.
I wasn’t sure what colours to use so I looked at colour combinations online and decided Merry Merlot which is one of the new naturals colours would be perfect with Night of Navy and Smoky Slate.
The Dreamcatcher was stamped along with the flowers and feathers (which were cut using matching framelit dies) on whisper white card. The flowers were watercoloured using the inks and aqua brush. Coloured card was used to die cut the dreamcatcher and decorative circle. As I didn’t have a sympathy sentiment stamp I used thinking of you from Apron of Love which was punched out with the Classic Label Punch. The background stamp is from Waterfront. A rhinestone finished off the card nicely.

Dandelion Wishes and Dragonfly Dreams

Today I thought I would show you a lovely card I’ve been waiting to make using Dandelion Wishes and Dragonfly Dreams. The inspiration for this card was………
A blouse I saw whilst out shopping. So don’t be shy about getting your phone out to snap pictures of clothing or items which inspire you. It could be patterns or colour combinations.
To make this card I stamped the dragonflies in Momento Black, the dandelions in Blackberry Bliss and the seeds (not sure of the correct name) was stamped with Highland Heather on to Highland Heather card. I then mat and layered Blackberry Bliss card, Whisper White card and the stamped background card. Polka Dot ribbon was wrapped around a strip of Blackberry Bliss card. A sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings was stamped in Highland Heather on Whisper White card which was die cut out with a scallop circle die and Big Shot die cutting machine. As always, rhinestones add the finishing touch to any project.
I will be experimenting with other colour combinations and it is such fun to create your own backgrounds!

Stamp-n-Hop – Favourite Designer Series Paper- July
Hello and welcome to my first blog hop with Stamp n Hop. You may have hopped from Cheryl and her inspiring blog. If you haven’t visited me before, I live in a rural village in the UK. This month we are showcasing our favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP).
I have to hold my hands up and confess that I haven’t really looked beyond my favourite DSP, which is Share What You Love Specialty DSP. I love the colours, patterns and the pearlescent sheen which makes every project so much more special. In this set you get 24 sheets (4 of each 6 double sided designs). I will however be looking at the selected DSP which is on special offer this month (Buy 3 Get 1 Free-See below for more details). Please note the Share What You Love DSP is not included in this offer but there are some equally lovely papers which I;m sure you will agree.
I thought I would showcase a 12 x 12 Scrapbook page which I have been working on to celebrate my Mum’s 80th Birthday on 19th July which is why there isn’t a photo or jounaling. Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive card stock have been mat and layered along with a sheet of the DSP (which has been cut slightly smaller). Using an old template I cut a shaped piece of card but only applied adhesive to the ends so I can slip the photo in when I am ready.
Letters for You were stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White Card and the die cut out with the Large Latter Framelits. I also cut the letters out in Old Olive card to make a shadow look. Basic Pearls were place on the letters to make it look like a banner.
When I started writing this this hop I didn’t realise that Mum would be having major surgery two days before her birthday and would therefore be still be in Hospital for her big day. Because of this I folded some of the lovely velvet ribbon in Rich Razzleberry into a support ribbon tied with bakers twine from the embellishment kit.
The Share what you love embellishment kit comes in a lovely presentation box and includes silver roses, bakers twine, paper clips and labels which I have used on my layout plus so much more. I also added some Artisan Pearls to the label which will be used for the journaling.
Below is a closer look at the patterns.
If you haven’t tried scrapbooking then I suggest you give it a try as it is so important to keep your memories alive in decorative albums rather than stored on your electronic device.

Kre8tors Blog Hop July- Card Sketch Challenge
Hello and welcome to July’s Kre8tors Blog Hop. You may have hopped over to me from the talented Kirsteen. This month we have our first card sketch challenge. This is such a good idea and I should look at sketches more often especially if I am stuck for a design. Below is the Sketch and measurements, You could also turn this sketch round so that the card is landscape which would give you a different design.
For my card I decided to use designer series paper DSP) rather than a stamped image which is very unusual for me. Natures Poem Designer Paper is a set which is included in the Buy 3 get one Free offer for July. It is a great for both feminine and masculine cards and of course your scrapbooking pages.
The card base is Blackberry Bliss with a piece of DSP as the first matt (A) square (B) and strip (C). The square is cut using the Stitched Shape Framelits and Grapefruit Grove cardstock was used with the flower from the Flourish thinlits both cut with the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Whisper White cardstock was used for strip (D), the circle (E) is Blackberry Bliss cardstock punched with the 1 1/4 punch. Leaves were stamped on vellum cardstock with Soft Suede as was the sentiment. Both the stamps were from the Painted Harvest set. Linen Thread and a Faceted Gem added some texture.

All for a good cause!
Yesterday I had a stall and make and take card table at a local fundraiser in Thorndon, Suffolk. It was raising funds for the Alzheimer’s charity which is close to my heart as both my Dad and Mother-in-Law passed away from this dreadful disease.
The light box I received at onstage (a Stampin’ Up! event) came in handy to advertise the make and take. If you would like to know further information on how to attend onstage in November and celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s 30th anniversary then please contact me.
A cute card for the make and take using the lovely Varied Vases stamp set and matching punch. This stamp set has outline and filler stamps and some lovely sentiments. And as with all new stamps and matching punches you can buy them as a bundle and save 10%!. The background stamp was Bokeh Dots which I love. A Black Marker was used to outline the image just to give some definition.
I also did a stepped up version of the card in new colours Gorgeous Grape and Balmy Blue. Also Lemon Lime Twist which is one of our in colours. The new Detailed Trio Punch, white bakers twine and some rhinstones finishes it off .
Stallholders were also asked to donate a raffle prize so I made a envelope using the Envelope Punch Board ( a tool I should use more often and it doesn’t just make envelopes) to put my Crafty Cream Tea voucher in. This was decorated with the Leaf punch, vellum and Love what you do stamp set. The limited addition statement of the heart sentiment which is now unavailable was perfect touch.
I am pleased to say a whopping £606 was raised which is fantastic!

Kre8tors June Bog Hop – New Annual Catalogue
Hi and welcome to our latest blog hop which features products from the new catalogue. We are a group of demonstrators from around the world who get together each month to share and inspire with our love of Stampin’ Up! Thank you Tricia for inspiring us with your project and I hope you enjoy continuing your hop with me!
As a demonstrator I was allowed to preorder a selection of items from the new catalogue before the launch date. Exciting, I know! (Which a good reason to sign up to the Stampin’ Up! Family). So yesterday it was our team’s bi- monthly shoebox swap and I chose to do a lovely card with the new Springtime Impressions thinlit dies. In this pretty set you get the corner flower, small flower and a detailed butterfly. (You can buy this with the Abstract Impressions stamp set as a bundle saving you 10%)
I cut the Very Vanilla card with the corner thinlit die, (The best way to cut detailed dies is using the precision plate, giving you extra fine cuts) and then I used the sponge daubers with ink to colour the flowers and leaves. Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla card stock was used for the mat and layering and Pinapple Punch for the cute flower. Calypso Coral, Pear Pizazz, Flirty Flamingo and Pinapple Punch inks were used for the sponging. The Stamped Sentiment is from the Lots of Love Card Kit (this is a great kit as you get everything you need to make quick and easy cards) and punched out with the Tailored Tag punch. Gold Metallic edged ribbon and a Rhinstone adds a bit of glitz to the card. 
I did another version using my favourite colour combination, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay and Berry Burst. The Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon added some texture.
